We are very excited to now be able to accept Cryptocurrency payments.
A Cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin, is a digital or virtual currency based on a network distributed across a large number of computers, which means they exist outside the control of governments and central authorities.
It comes as Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak told the Bank of England last week to look at the possibility of a digital Pound.
We use a system called Coinbase Commerce for customers to make payments, and currently takes six types of cryptocurrency – Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, USDcoin, Bitcoin cash and Dai. Payments can be made across any part of the business from paying for Park day entry through to events like the Andy and The Odd Socks concert in August.
We plan to launch early bird tickets for ‘FEAR Scream Park’ event to be only bought with Cryptocurrency.
Park owner Doug says, “We are really excited to be able to offer the opportunity for people to buy our tickets with Cryptocurrencies. We always look to the future and I personally feel this is going to be a massive disruptor for the mainstream financial systems that have had it good for so long. I hate paying transaction fees, booking fees etc and by taking Crypto we can cut out the middleman and deal directly with our guests; passing this saving onto them. It’s becoming much more mainstream and quite a lot of people have made investments in cryptocurrency, but there are not many opportunities to buy things like this with it. I think it’s a unique and fun thing we can offer. We launched it on Friday with some events and day entry tickets and have already had some people buying tickets using Cryptocurrency. At the moment we can take payment for six Cryptocurrencies, but eventually we should be able to accept all of them.”
